Join us for an afternoon of community placard and banner making on the eve of the protest marking one year of Gaza genocide.
After almost 52 weeks of protest we have seen the reverberating effects placards and banners have. Our signs against genocide and the violence of settler occupation are a way for us to assert our resistances, express our solidarities, and proclaim our protest.
They tried to erase Palestine from the world. So the whole world became Palestine. Let our placards and banners echo this assertion.
We will have some placard and banner making materials available, but please feel free to bring materials of your own to use too. Kines’ kitchen will be closed, but you are welcome to bring food along.
This event is a chance for the community to come together. Bring your family, friends, and comrades. If you are an artist, designer, illustrator, painter, creative – we would love your help!
Kines are kindly sharing their space with us for this event. The event will take place outdoors in an undercover area. The venue is wheelchair accessible. There is street parking available and Kines is accessible via public transport. Bathrooms at the venue will be accessible for the duration of the event. Please be COVID safe.
This event will take place on land that belongs to the Wurundjeri-Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nations. Indigenous Sovereignty has never been ceded; it always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
