Palestine Under Siege was filmed in the middle of 2023 in West Bank, East Jerusalem and Israel, which takes you into the heart of the struggle for Palestinian self-determination. Palestinian and Jewish human rights activists speak about the movement to dismantle Israeli apartheid.
This film features interviews with Salman Abu Sitta, a Palestinian researcher, known for his mapping project and detailed plan for the reconstruction of villages and towns so the refugees can return after the Occupation ends.
Jeff Halper, an Israeli-American anthropologist, author, lecturer, and political activist has lived in Israel since 1973 and is director of the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions (ICAHD). Jeff takes us to visit a farmer who has had his house demolished twice and had it rebuilt twice by ICAHD as a form of resistance.
Hanan Ashrawi, a Palestinian politician, activist and scholar and winner of the 2003 Sydney Peace Prize takes us through the one state, two state discussion, the Israeli people’s opposition to the government’s judicial changes and a look at Gaza as an open air prison waiting for something to happen.
Featuring a Q&A with filmmakers Jill Hickson and John Reynolds and some of the participants in the film following the screening.
Proceeds from the screening will go towards Unionist for Palestine WA and the Human Rights Defenders, an organisation that documents the abuse of Israeli settlers and soldiers in Hebron, the second largest city within the West Bank.
