On the 7th of April Walid Dakka was the 6th oldest Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli jails. He was sentenced to 37 which he has completed but was extended for two more years. Amnesty international asked for releasing him after he was diagnosed with cancer due to poor medical care, which continued until he died in jail.
Currently there are 9400 prisoners in Israeli jails, including 80 women and more than 200 children, and 3600 administrative detainees.
