Dr Mark Thomas, Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), will discuss the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Palestine and international efforts to rebuild Gaza’s devastated health system.
Dr Mark Thomas is a critical applied economist at the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation at the University of Technology Sydney. His research focuses on health policy evaluation, equity and health systems development in national conflict settings. Before arriving to Australia, Mark worked in the non-profit sector in Palestine, specialising in women’s rights and empowerment, the rights of people with disabilities, grassroots community development, education and advocacy.
