In the words of Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish, “If the olive trees knew the hands that planted them, their oil would become tears.” The film Where Olive Trees Weep was produced over three weeks in May to June 2022 in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and occupied West Bank: Jericho, the Jordan Valley, Hebron, Bethlehem, and the outskirts of Ramallah. It gives background to the current horrific crisis in Israel/ Palestine.
Directed by Zaya Ralitza Benazzo (SAND) and Maurizio Benazzo (SAND), co-produced by Ashira Darwish, and featuring Ahed Tamimi and Dr Gabor Maté, this cinematographic dissection of intergenerational pain, trauma and resilience is not to be missed.
Proudly brought to the Capri Theatre by Health Workers 4 Palestine (Adelaide) and Australian Friends of Palestine, 6:30pm, 25th June 2024. Click here for tickets: https://kinema.com/events/where-olive-trees-weep-vaq6x
