FREE screening of the documentary “Palestine under Siege” followed by Gaza Nippers Update in North Steyne Surf Club Wed 8th May (register at link below).
A revealing documentary filmed on location in Palestine a few months before October 7th. The footage was smuggled out of Palestine, edited in Australia and has only been announced recently for security reasons.
It shows the daily struggle of the Palestinian people against Israeli settler colonialism and the apartheid nature of the Israeli state.
It provides critical background on events prior to October 7th in contrast to the mainstream media narrative, that thankfully is only now just beginning to change.
The documentary is made by Dare to Struggle Film Festival by film makers:
– John Reynolds and Jill Hickson
– Dr. Peter Slezak UNSW Honorary Associate Professor of Philosophy
– Rand Darwish, Palestinian student activist
– Lee Rhiannon former Greens Senator
– Bashir Sawalha, President of the United Australian Palestinian Workers Association.
There will also be a Q&A with the film makers afterwards.
Follwing this will be an update on the Gaza Nippers initiative where North Steyne Surf Club partnered with Gazan lifesavers, trained them here and they started a Nippers group in Gaza. The first season was July 2023 – just before October 7th.
There will be an update on the night following the main film.
