DESCRIPTION:The film the BBC refused to air shows the targeting\, detainment and torture of medics in Gaza. \nThis film was first commissioned by the BBC\, only to be dropped. This drew scorn from the wider media. \nGaza Doctors Under Attack bills itself as a ‘forensic investigation” into claims that the IDF has been systematically targeting Palestinian medics in all 36 of Gaza’s hospitals. The hospital first comes under bombardment\, then it is besieged. After that\, it is raided by tanks and bulldozers and its medical workers are detained. Once the hospital has been rendered non-functional the IDF moves on and repeats…. \nThe power of Gaza Doctors Under Attack comes in the unhurried way it chooses to unfurl its thesis. There is no clear manipulation\, no central villain. What there is\, however\, is an increasing timeline of horrors. \nThe screening will be followed by a Q&A with Dr Aziz Bhimani\, who was working in a Gaza Hospital in 2024 as an Orthopaedic Surgeon\, and Dr Sarah Abdo\, a consultant endocrinologist based in Sydney. Dr Abdo is the daughter of a 1948 Palestinian. Dr Hanady Nasreddine from the Mittagong Women’s Health Centre will also be answering questions on the panel. \nThere may still be a few tickets available for purchase (cash only – no credit card) at the door on the day.
