SUMMARY:March for humanity
DESCRIPTION:MARCH FOR HUMANITY\nSAVE GAZA\nMarch across the Sydney Harbour Bridge\nSunday 3 August \nThe Palestine Action Group Sydney is calling for a mass March for Humanity across the Sydney Harbour Bridge next Sunday. \nAt least 127 people\, including 85 children\, have so far died from starvation in Gaza\, along with over a thousand who have been shot and killed while queueing for aid in recent weeks. \nThe deliberate starvation of 2 million Gazans is a part of a broader plan\, repeatedly announced by Israeli leaders\, to either kill or expel the entire Palestinian population from Gaza. This is a genocide. Even if\, under global pressure\, Israel temporarily allows some food into Gaza\, it will not mean the end of Israel’s goal of ethnically cleansing the strip\, called by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu “the Trump Plan”. \nThis extraordinary situation has led the Palestine Action Group to call for a March for Humanity over the Sydney Harbour Bridge next Sunday\, 3 August\, to save Gaza. We call on everyone\, every individual and every organisation\, who cannot bear to do nothing in the face of this atrocity\, to join with us. \nAs Australia’s most iconic symbol\, a mass march across the Harbour Bridge will send a powerful message to the world\, to Gaza\, to Israel\, and to our own Government\, that we are determined to stand up for humanity. \nWe call on the NSW authorities\, and the NSW Government\, to facilitate this March for Humanity. \nIn 2023 the Harbour Bridge was closed for a special march to mark World Pride\, which PM Anthony Albanese participated in. That same year saw the Bridge closed for several hours to shoot a scene for a Ryan Gosling film. It can certainly be closed to stop a genocide. \nWe appeal to organisations and high profile individuals to please sign on and endorse this March for Humanity. See the link to a sign-on statement and form to endorse in our bio. \nOur current plan is to assemble at Lang Park\, Sydney\, 1pm Sunday 3 August\, and march across the Bridge to the US Consulate in North Sydney; but please note these details may change. \nWe have lodged a Form 1 notifying NSW Police of our intentions. \nLet’s do this!\nSave Gaza! Free Palestine! \nPalestine Action Group Sydney

This workshop is designed for everyone—whether you attended a previous session\, are an experienced Tatreez lover\, or are completely new to the craft. \nTatreez\, Palestinian embroidery\, is a powerful symbol of resilience and cultural identity\, with designs that represent the diverse regions\, traditions\, and stories of Palestine. In this workshop\, you will hear from Samar Abedrabo\, the founder of SAMARKAND\, who will share her knowledge about the cultural importance behind the unique Tatreez designs. Samar\, based in Bethlehem\, will join the session virtually\, with hands-on support provided by the Made in Palestine and Stitch Intifada teams. \nThroughout the session\, you’ll be introduced to the materials used in Palestinian embroidery. You’ll learn about their distinct characteristics and how each piece contributes to the intricate Tatreez designs. From choosing the right threads and fabrics to understanding the various needle types\, you’ll gain a solid foundation in embroidery techniques. By the end of the workshop\, you’ll leave with a completed piece of your own embroidery and a newfound appreciation for this cultural art form.

SUMMARY:The Time That Remains
DESCRIPTION:Live music night for Palestine\, raising funds for children’s education in Dheisheh Refugee Camp. \nAbout the Project \nThe Time That Remains began in 2024 when three creatives came together with an idea: to use music as a way to hold space\, build community\, and raise urgent funds for Palestinian families in the West Bank. Partnering with the non-profit Made in Palestine\, the night was born out of solidarity and community. \nWith backgrounds spanning event curation\, community organising\, humanitarian aid and music\, they brought the first night to life in Naarm in June 2024 — raising $3\,328+ in direct aid\, which was distributed on the ground by the Made in Palestine team. What began as a one-off event became something more — a collective rhythm of care\, resistance and connection. \nTo learn more\, visit:https://tttr.cargo.site/ \n2025 Fundraising Impact \nFor our 2025 edition\, we’re focusing our efforts on a family living in Dheisheh refugee camp. Ayham (pictured) is one of four children in the family we are supporting. His older brother\, now 14\, is at the prime age of children targeted by the Israeli military and detained under administrative detention. When the Made in Palestine team spoke with the children’s parents in late 2024\, they shared their deepest fear — that their children could be hurt\, detained\, or martyred. \nLike many families within the camp\, they are facing significant financial and lifestyle challenges exacerbated by the pressures of military occupation and limited access to basic resources. The family believes in education as a means of safety\, stability\, and hope. This initiative aims to ensure that the children can have continued access to education through 2025–26 — covering school fees\, supplies\, and essential needs. By supporting The Time That Remains 2.0\, you’re directly investing in these children’s futures — helping keep them safe\, in school\, and surrounded by care.
