Labor is continuing its health theme. Bill Shorten will announce $250 million to target elective surgery for procedures such as knee and hip replacements in public hospitals.

THE LATEST POLLS

The first Newspoll since the election was called shows Labor is ahead of the Liberal/Nationals coalition 52-48. It also shows the One Nation primary vote declining, hitting a low of four per cent. The Greens are unchanged on 9 per cent.
