Bishop George Browning, President of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, spoke to ABC RN breakfast about his lobbying efforts to get the Abbott Government to reverse its decision to refer to East Jerusalem as ‘disputed’ rather than ‘occupied’.

Tony Abbott insists he still supports a two state solution in Israel-Palestine but what he calls a ‘terminological clarification’ has infuriated the Arab world.

The Abbott Government’s decision to refer to East Jerusalem as ‘disputed’ rather than ‘occupied’ has been met with anger, but welcomed as ‘refreshing’ by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Bishop George Browning, President of the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network, has been lobbying Government MPs to reverse the change.
