Month of Action for Gaza

This October, as we observe the one year anniversary of the genocide in Gaza, we will be taking action across the nation to demonstrate the power and unity of the grassroots movement for Palestine.

There are many different ways for you to take action, from rallies, to phone calls to MP’s, to postcard distribution, or watching and sharing a film with others in your community.

1) Hold or attend a vigil or rally.

We are thrilled to be working with grassroots groups and organisations right around Australia to rally weekly. We have downloadable and printable rally posters here and can provide guidance and assistance to help you pull together a snap action in your local community.

2) Sign, send or share one of our Political Postcards throughout the month of October.

We’re making 6 key policy demands of the Federal government for an end to the genocide. Now, you can help us back in those calls by signing and sharing our political postcards. Order a stack to hand out amongst your community, or find one to sign at your local rally! You can download a printable version here and here.

3) Write, phone or visit your MP during October to call for an end to the genocide.

Demand that your MP uses the correct language, acknowledging that what is happening in Gaza is undeniably a genocide. Remind them of their obligations under the genocide convention!

We’ve put together a brand new toolkit to help you engage with your MP strategically in support of APAN’s campaign for an end to the genocide.

You can check out the toolkit here.

5) Make a phone call, or share a sticker with Payphones for Palestine!

Payphones for Palestine have been making it easy for you to call your MP and let them know how you feel about Palestine. They’ve got great scripts, useful info, as well as all the phone numbers. And the best bit? They’ve popped them all onto a convenient sticker for you. Head to @payphonesforPalestine for instructions to make a call, or stay tuned to help us distribute stickers so that others can make calls easily too!

6) Attend or host a community film screening of Palestine Under Siege.

Palestine Under Siege is an excellent documentary that takes viewers on a journey to the West Bank to explore life under occupation by Israel. APAN has put together an event pack so that you can easily run a film screening of Palestine Under Siege in your community and raise funds for APAN or Dare to Struggle, plus recruit new people into our campaign for Palestinian justice.
