Party positions on the Question of Palestine
September 2013 Federal Election, Rankin electorate, Queensland

You can see the Greens’ position condemning the occupation and blockade as expressed by Senator Lee Rhiannon here.

The Greens support for Palestine’s bid for United Nations membership and be seen here and here.

The next three of your questions are answered in this document, but in summary we support the establishment of a secure and viable state of Palestine alongside Israel, based on 4 June 1967 boundaries, the removal of Israeli settlers and Israeli security and military forces from the Palestinian territories, and are against the blockade.

Regarding the question on aid that would be dealt with within our general approach to aid which centres on seeking to increase aid to 0.7% of GDP.

I personally concur with the party’s positions in these matters, and would advocate for them in parliament if given the opportunity.

Neil Cotter, Greens candidate for Rankin.
