Parliamentarians showed up in solidarity for Nakba Day. Thank them for being on the right side of history.

Thousands of Australians turned up for Palestine this month, as we marked 75 years of Nakba. It was powerful.

And politicians turned up too – they came to events that were organised by local groups, but also took the lead through parliamentary speeches, social media posts and solidarity photos.  The Zionist lobby wants to ‘name and shame them”, can you take 2 minutes to assure them that they’re on the right side of history?

The photo above shows just some of the parliamentary solidarity.

There were also parliamentary speeches from Tony Piccolo MP and Irene Pnevmatikos MLC Labor members of the South Australian parliament; as well as Green Senators David Shoebridge and Mehreen Faruqi in the Federal Parliament.

There were social media posts aplenty – including Senator Jordon Steele-John; Andrew Wilkie MP;  Senator Anne Urquhart; Senator Lidia Thorpe; Senator Allman Payne, and many others shared stories on their feeds.

Parliamentarians are like all of us, it's easier to speak up for something when you know people have your back. Could you send an email to express your gratitude to these parliamentarians for showing up for Palestine?
