Send a letter to the editor

The killing of Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom and her World Central Kitchen colleagues highlights the Israel’s campaign of violence against humanitarian aid convoys, workers and civilians seeking aid. This is part of Israel’s ongoing genocide and criminal policy of intentionally starving Palestinians in Gaza.

This weekend, we urge you to write a letter to the editor about this horrific war crime and this pattern of violence, demanding that the Australian Government take strong action to pressure Israel to comply with international law.

Letters to the editor of your local paper offer the potential for your message to reach thousands of readers across the continent. And, we know politicians monitor these letter pages too.

Consider submitting a short letter to a national, state or your local paper. You might speak about:

  • The investigation by AlJazeera’s Sanad Verification Agency and statements by WCK founder Jose Andres that point to this being an intentional attack
  • The fact that this is the latest in a pattern of Israeli attacks against humanitarian aid convoys, workers and civilians seeking aid
  • The need for the Australian Government to take strong action to ensure Israel is pressured to comply with the International Court of Justice’s binding ruling to prevent genocide and facilitate the entry of aid into Gaza, and is held to account for its violations of international law.

Only send your letter to one media outlet to give it the greatest chance of being published, or find the email address of the editor at your local paper and send it there.
