The ‘Cygnet for Palestine Collective’ holds its third event on the weekend of 10th-12th May at the Town Hall Supper Room. Award-winning ‘Israelism’ will be shown on Friday 10th May at 6.30pm. This brave documentary, made by two young US Jews explores how the young see things very differently from the US-Israel establishment. The massive student demonstrations across the US suggest its validity and importance. The film will be followed by a Q&A, hosted by Peter George (ex-ABC Middle Eastern Correspondent) with special guest, Regina Weiss, War Crimes prosecutor. On Sunday, 12th May at 2pm, a Palestinian film session starts with short films followed by the dry comic drama, “WAJIB”. Set in Nazareth, in recent times, it has heart, humour, family tensions and politics revealed in the simple act of delivering wedding invitations. A great film, not to be missed.
There will be Palestinian refreshments at both events. Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to essential, humanitarian causes in Gaza.
