In Conversation with Nick Hanna, lawyer and investigative journalist

Sunday November 23, 2025 @ 4:59 pm7:30 pm

Hosted by the Northern Beaches Committee for Palestine at Manly Library, 1 Market Lane, at 5.00 pm on Sunday, 23 November. $10 entry ( gold coin for students and pensioners), free food and drink.

Nick is a leading criminal defence lawyer who has provided pro bono legal services to numerous people participating in pro-Palestine political activities.

He is the host of the popular YouTube channel, The What & The Why, an investigative journalism project that exposes the role of Israel and its lobby in undermining civil liberties in Australia.

Nick also wrote and directed The Last Sky, a documentary about the genocide in Gaza from the perspective of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

On his visit to Manly, Nick will invite questions and discussions about any topics on the subject of his legal and journalistic work, including the Zionist lobby’s undermining of our democracy, Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and aggression in the Middle East and how we can push back against it.

Facilitating the conversation will be Cathy Peters, a long-time advocate for Palestinian rights. She’s been an ABC producer and a Greens councillor on the former Marrickville Council. In 2014 she co-founded PSNA / BDS Australia. She has written and produced articles and programs which look at the injustices faced by Palestinians under the Israeli regime.
