Red Lines Package
Labor just voted in favour of Israel’s genocide
Send your message to Penny Wong & Anthony Albanese
Your Labor Senator just voted with the Coalition in favour of Israel’s genocide, blocking a Senate Inquiry into APAN’s ‘Red Lines Package’ a package of 4 bills to be implemented into law. This is unacceptable.
We are urging you to send a message to Penny Wong and Anthony Albanese to tell them that we will not stay silent while Labor attempts to walk away from human rights.
This week, a broad alliance of civil society organisations and crossbench politicians launched APAN’s Red Lines Package in the Federal Parliament.
The Red Lines Package would ensure Australia is not complicit in genocide and does does not arm, fund, or invest in Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine.
By voting down the Red Lines Package Senate Inquiry, Labor has signalled they stand with Israel and do not respect human rights or ‘social cohesion’.
Find more information about the Red Lines Package here: https://www.redlinespackage.com.au/

Tell the government that they must reverse their position and support the Senate Inquiry into the Red Lines Package when Parliament returns in October.

Why Labor must support the Red Lines Package:
The Red Lines Package would ensure Australia is not complicit in genocide and does does not arm, fund or invest in Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine.
These laws are supported by a huge alliance of civil society organisations including APAN, Amnesty International, Oxfam, ActionAid Australia, Muslim Aid Australia, Jewish Council of Australia, former Australian Human rights Commissioner Emeritus Professor Gillian Triggs, and many more.
The four bills seek to turn Australia’s international legal obligations into practical safeguards; ensuring Australian weapons, money, investment and trade do not contribute to genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity or illegal occupation anywhere in the world.
Labor must allow a Senate inquiry to hear from experts and affected communities and about this urgent legislation. Instead, it shut down scrutiny completely.
As Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians continues, Australia cannot keep invoking international law while refusing to confront its own complicity.
Genocide must be a red line. Complicity must have consequences.
Tell Penny Wong and Albanese to back the Red Lines Laws and Senate Inquiry when Parliament returns in October.
