No public money for genocide!
The Future Fund must divest from Palantir.
Did you know that the Future Fund – Australia’s sovereign wealth fund – is investing $165 million dollars into Palantir, a company that has provided unwavering support for Israel’s genocide?
After the genocide commenced in 2023, Palantir eagerly aligned itself with the Israeli military, equipping its operations in Gaza with cutting-edge technologies that allow Israel to kill and maim Palestinians and decimate infrastructure, streamlining and systematising the killing of Palestinians with dystopian levels of clinical cruelty.
Four months into the genocide, Palantir held a board meeting in Tel Aviv in solidarity with Israel, announcing a new strategic partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Defence, supplying AI tools and systems.
This support has included providing AI tools that ingest and organise huge amounts of data to make decisions about military targets, leading to the death of thousands of Palestinian civilians and the decimation of Gaza, as well as bespoke “predictive systems,” which analyze civilian social media posts to identify Palestinians deemed a threat, leading to their arbitrary arrest for crimes like citing Quranic verses, calling for protests, or sharing images of murdered family members. They have also provided AI language tools, and mapping and geospatial data to allow Israel to streamline and expedite the genocide.
Is this where our public money should be invested?
The Future Fund is meant to invest public money, our money, for the benefit of future generations of Australians.
But nobody thinks we should be securing our collective future off the back of death, destruction and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
The Future Fund can – and should – divest from Palantir, as well as any other weapons or technological company linked to Israel’s genocide.
All it would take is an investment mandate issued by the Treasurer or Finance Minister.
Add your support and take action today.
